Connect Your Congregation for Annual Conference Sunday 2017!
Join congregations and individuals from around the country as we once again form one large worshipping congregation for Annual Conference Sunday on July 2, 2017.
All congregations are invited to come together in celebration during the Sunday morning worship service at Annual Conference by sharing in the worship webcast. You can webcast the service live with your church, and worship with thousands of other Brethren!
Varied time zones or worship times are not a problem. You can start playing the webcast whenever your church service starts (as long as it is at the same time or after the worship begins at Annual Conference at 8:30am EDT). A bulletin is even available for you to download and print. Individuals just need to be at their computers. For a larger worshipping group, just follow these instructions:
What You Will Need
- A computer with:
- a high-speed Internet connection (wireless or wired)
- a web browser that is able to display Flash content (most can—Firefox, Safari, IE, Edge, etc.)
- A projector and screen (or handy light-colored wall)
- The sound system in your church, or a set of powered computer speakers
Setup Ahead
- Arrange for the best internet connection possible.
If you want to check your internet speed, go to www.speedtest.net …connections of greater than Mbps down are recommended—higher is better.
- If on a shared internet connection, request that others refrain from use while you are connected.
- It is strongly recommended that you update the computer’s version of Flash Player.
The latest Adobe Flash Player is available as a free download at get.adobe.com/flashplayer.
- Connect the computer to the projector and to the sound system (or speakers).
- Test your set up! Click the green WATCH button at the top of this page and play the Welcom Video there.
Bulletins
A bulletin for the Sunday morning service (and bulletins for all others services as well) are available for downloading and printing.
Connecting to the Sunday Morning Service on July 2
- For best results, it is highly recommended that you fully reboot your system, close all other programs, and make sure your computer has completed any updates or anti-virus scans in the half hour before showing a webcast, so as to reduce competition for system resources.
- Log onto the Internet and go to www.brethren.org/ac/webcasts (hint: bookmark this page), and click the green WATCH button.
- Starting your webcast: The service begins with announcements at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time, but the prelude will likely be closer to 8:45 a.m. You can log into the service at any time after it has begun, and watch it from any point:
- If you log in and the service has already begun, pause the stream, then slide the progress bar at the bottom of the screen to the beginning (or wherever you wish your playback to begin). Click play when you are ready.
- If you log in and the service has already concluded, look at the "Event Posts" at the right of the page (click on the Event Posts icon, which looks likes three stacked pages, if the list of posts is not present), and click on the Sunday morning service to play the recording. Skip directly to where you want to begin playback (see cue points below).
Helpful Hints and Tips for Watching
- Cue Points. The webcast team will post cue points for the Sunday morning worship that will help you know precisely where to start your playback (e.g., Singing=11:45. Announcements=29:50. Call to Worship=37:00…).
- During the service, messages with cue points will appear in the chat area of the live webcast.
click on the chat icon at the upper right to see the chats.
- After the recording is posted, the cue points will be posted as a separate entry in the Event Posts.
- Just slide the progress slider to the specific time you desire to start the webcast, and click play when your congregation is ready!
Test this ahead of time with the Welcome Video.
- Full Screen.Once you are ready to present the webcast, set your screen to Full Screen mode to have the webcast fill the whole screen
while playing, moving your mouse over the video will make the "Full screen" control appear at the lower right corner—press Esc to exit full screen.
- Quality: You can choose how much bandwidth streams to your computer—for instance, eliminate streaming problems by choosing a lower bandwidth quality.
Button is at lower right corner, and looks like "HD" or a cell bar or a gear wheel.
- Chat: Posting privileges are available to anyone who logs in with a free Livestream account or Facebook. We would be glad to have you welcome the larger church… so login and share if you wish!
To open the chat, click the chat icon at the upper right—it looks like a cartoon talk bubble.
- Recordings. Every worship service and business session will be recorded and available for anyone to view afterwards. All recordings appear when Event Posts are selected. Just click any to view, and fast-forward or rewind at will.
Follow Up: Celebrating Our Unity
If your congregation joins the Sunday morning service, please email annualconference@brethren.org immediately after the service to let us know which congregation, where, and how many worshipers were in attendance… that way we can celebrate how widely we have gathered to worship together!

Technical Assistance with Webcasts
First step: take a look at the set-up tips under Annual Conference Sunday or Worship and Business sections. You may find the help you need there.
If those help pages do not resolve your problem, you may follow these steps.
For non-urgent questions, such as questions prior to Conference, please email webcast-tech@brethren.org. Include a clear description of your question, and we will try to reply in a timely manner.
For urgent or time-dependent questions, such as in the middle of a Conference broadcast, the best way to get immediate support is to post a chat message to our webcaster within the live broadcast (requires that you create a free livestream account or connect via Facebook).
If chat is not an option, for urgent questions we suggest that you email a clear problem description to webcast-tech@brethren.org, then immediately follow up with a brief summary text message to our webcaster, Enten Eller, via his cell phone at 717-598-1818. (If you do not have texting capability, you may phone Enten at that number, but it is unlikely that he will be able to answer in the middle of a broadcast... so be prepared to leave a message.) He will try to provide assistance as quickly as feasible.
